Installation

Edit the varlables of the script. It will not work unless you follow the instructions carefully.

Upload the script to your server via ftp, or use a UNIX text editor.

Include the script at the top of your PHP page:

The script use functions to generate and include chunks of HTML. There are two functions that need to be used:

<? csstag(); ?>
This outputs the tag to format the current page with the stylesheet the user have chosen:

If you have chosen the mozilla friendly version (see the configuration section of cssmagic.php) the script will also create alternative stylesheet tags for the other stylesheets. Please note that this isn't saved in cookies, so when the user re-visits the page, he or she is likely to see the default stylesheet.
<? csslist(); ?>
This outputs a list of the stylesheets you have chosen for the script. When a user clicks on the stylesheet names, the script will store the name (actually, numerical ID) for the stylesheet in a cookie.

If you chose to use the default unordered list option, use the
following code to create the list:

That's pretty much it.

Hints

If you got a configuration section of your site, try adding the <? csslist(); ?> tags there, and just the <? csstag(); ?> tags at the other pages. That way the focus of the user can be on the actual content, not the technical stuff. :-)

You don't have to have entirely different styles, it can be just as good to give the user an option to change the font size, like Wired does. You can link to each stylesheet from images as well, and omit the csslist() tag.
