This project provides an application that tracks SVORI individuals through their various programs in the institution and when released into the community. It is being released to the community for free development by the Learning Networks Foundation (LNF) who was originally contracted to provide this software. The SVORI grant was awarded to the US Virgin Islands by the US Department of Justice, who contracted with LNF to execute the program. LNF wishes to thank the USVI Department of Justice for allowing it to make this software freely available.
The software is designed as a web server to provide a uniform user interface and to allow for future enhancements. SVORI staff have to run the svori application on their workstation, and then point a web browser to it to actually interact with the application. This design was chosen because network access is not permitted in “the yard”, yet gives SVORI personnel access to all interlinking information while they are interviewing inmates in the institution or in the field.
Note that this application is just one component of the reentry process. It is not intended to be used without accompanying policies and procedures, vendor protocols, and evaluation tools. After analysis of the environment your program would be implemented in, you may decide that some other (or even a proprietary) package is more appropriate.

The application is implemented using TCL with:
The user starts the SVORI application (svori.exe on MS-Windows, svori on GNU/Linux) and then points their web browser to http://localhost:8080/
The user then logs in (to get permissions to access the database), and then selects one of the following tabs for the object to create, view, search, or modify.

To subscribe to any SVORI mailing list, please send an empty mail with a Subject: header line of just "subscribe" to the relevant -request list. For example, to subscribe yourself to the main list, you would send mail to <[email protected]> with no body and a Subject: header line of just "subscribe".
