Consider bzip2...

1) If muLinux is meant for small "obsolete" systems, bzip2 is trouble. It is
the bubonic plague of the 4meg-ers.

2) If muLinux is not meant for small systems anymore, then bzip2 is good.

Assuming 1), then why not switch to .tgz files? I'm also assuming that fitting
addons on floppies is no longer a primary design goal. Then mu will run better
on more systems.
